Ending or Beginning ?

 


When I come to the end of me

I find there is no end to you

Your faithfulness goes on and on

And on and on through all eternity

Unending Love   -   Ceaseless Hope   -   Power without boundary

 

I find the end of me

Fearful   -   Tearful   -   Alone

And there I am in the mist of you

Me – a dot on your timeline

 

I rest my ending

In your eternity:   Secure   -   Purposeful   -   Anchored

I find myself in your unending love

Saturated and Filled

Your strength invading  -   Covering   -   Overwhelming every weakness

Every part of me, that I prefer to hide

I rest  -   I remain

Trusting  -   Anchored   -   Belonging

         

In you, I find I have no ending

No sudden stops or failings

In you I have hope unending and overflowing

Redemption!

I find myself included in your unending timeline

And there I will remain

Emotional Hit-and-Run

Hurt can be like a hit-and-run accident.  Sometimes the person who has hurt us never asks for forgiveness.   Sometimes they don’t even acknowledge the hurt they’ve caused. At times it is unintentional, a true accident.  But other times it is not an accident at all, but rather a purposed act of violence. Regardless of the presence of motive, sometimes we are left alone -             beaten and bleeding and the one who caused the pain is long gone.  No relationship. No future. No process or apology.  There is no hope of restoration.           Now sometimes that is just fine with us.
