Hope Enough to Share!

 


Easter is a celebration of the power of love to transform and renew life. The ultimate miracle of life coming from death opens wide the doors of possibility: freedom from shame, love that triumphs over hate, forgiveness that sets you free, liberty from what once held you captive, beauty from ashes, hope in the midst of tragedy, and on and on.

I’ve tasted the goodness of this power in my own life, experienced the wonder of being transformed and redeemed. 

  • ·       My soul has been liberated from the bondage of depression, hopelessness, suicidal thoughts and despair.
  • ·       Years of self-hatred and self-harm have been redeemed by love and acceptance, allowing me to be tender and accepting of myself.
  • ·       I’m experienced radical freedom from severe claustrophobia.
  • ·       Forgiving the young man who repeatedly raped me, transformed my life in more ways than I could list. What I once survived, became the ground in which I have come to grow and thrive. Death no longer holds me down.
  • ·       The power of shame and hiddenness regarding my past has been broken, allowing me to find strength and beauty in who I have become in the midst of the trauma I endured.
  • ·       Birthing sons after years of infertility was evidence of healing and a physical victory over the literal scars of physical and sexual abuse.
  • ·       Relationships once marked by words of judgement and shame have been healed and restored by love.
  • ·       I have hurt and been hurt. I have hated and loved. I have lost, grieved and learned to hope again. I have embraced life and live without fear.

Life from Death – Beauty from Ashes  – Joy from Mourning

I have tasted it – I have lived it – Now I expect it!

Life Abundant

Emotional Hit-and-Run

Hurt can be like a hit-and-run accident.  Sometimes the person who has hurt us never asks for forgiveness.   Sometimes they don’t even acknowledge the hurt they’ve caused. At times it is unintentional, a true accident.  But other times it is not an accident at all, but rather a purposed act of violence. Regardless of the presence of motive, sometimes we are left alone -             beaten and bleeding and the one who caused the pain is long gone.  No relationship. No future. No process or apology.  There is no hope of restoration.           Now sometimes that is just fine with us.
