Trust & Love: a dance

 


Trust is like falling

Will you catch me?

Will you hold me?

 

Love is like sinking

Deeper and deeper

Being covered in warmth and gentle weight

 

Trust is like flying

Taking off and feeling the strength & power

New heights - the thrill of new perspective

 

Love is momentum

A driving force within me like a rising tide

And yet it is on its way to me in waves

 

Trust is an invitation     –     Love is an invitation

 

Trust calls me deeper into love     –     Love calls me deeper into trust

 

I am gaining and soaring

I must let go of fears and thoughts of what is not possible

 

Trust makes a demand

Love is the movement towards me and within me

Love is the invitation and yet  –  Love is my response

 

Trust is required

And yet it too grows with time  –   better and better still

 

Trust is the dance – the flight

The adventure of walking it out

 

I will say “yes” to love

Again and again and again

 

I will trust

 

Because of “yes”

I will grow

Levels of Healing - ? -

  I have recently gained new understanding of the process of healing from emotional wounding. I am passionate about the ability we all have to heal from trauma and deep pain. We need not be limited and defined by it forever. I have found that the process of healing is intentional and not merely a matter of time or “moving on”. To heal one must face the betrayal, trauma event or relationship that caused the pain and walk through the process of identifying the impact it had on them. One must grieve and be comforted. Often working through anger and disappointment is required in order to forgive and come to a place of peace. I have found that it is possible to experience freedom from the anger, shame and deep sorrow that is often the result of trauma or deep emotional wounding. I have experienced my own journey of healing from physical and sexual abuse. I have also worked through relational tensions, betrayal and loss.
